Shannon Joyce Prince is the author of Tactics for Racial Justice: Building an Antiracist Organization and Community. She earned her doctorate in African and African American Studies and her master’s in English from Harvard University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, her law degree from Yale Law School, and her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from Dartmouth College.

She practices law at Boies Schiller Flexner where she works on headliner cases such as the representation of the Cherokee Nation in its lawsuit against the opioid industry for causing the epidemic of addiction on its reservation. She also provides legal commentary on television.
