Nyakio Grieco is a trailblazing beauty industry veteran and co-founder of Thirteen Lune, an inclusive beauty retail platform dedicated to promoting minority-owned brands. Launched in 2020, Thirteen Lune has grown from 13 brands to representing 175, with 90% of its products sourced from minority founders. Her first beauty brand, Nyakio Beauty, drew inspiration from her Kenyan heritage and grandmother’s natural remedies. Available at retailers like Fred Segal and Jeffrey New York, Nyakio Beauty was later acquired by Unilever in 2017.
Now, it is through Thirteen Lune that Nyakio has truly aligned her passion with her purpose. The platform’s partnerships with major retailers such as JCPenney and American Airlines have brought unprecedented visibility to minority-owned beauty brands, further cementing Nyakio’s commitment to inclusive representation and empowerment in the beauty space. This commitment went a step further when she launched Relevant, an ultra-inclusive line that prioritizes innovation and tech-led formulations.
